skunkbaby
I created my first torrent several days ago and have been steadily seeding it. The problem is all the downloaders appear to get only 98% of the way there. My uTorrent refuses to seed the last 2%. Did I do something wrong?-skunkbaby
jewelisheaven
If you're unsure if you still have the files... Stop right click, force recheck.. Check to see where the RED parts are... if they're at the beginning/end of files it's likely your computer silently retagged these files (most common with A/V types) and therefore the torrent isn't valid. If you want to try removing these tags, and then checking again it may seed again. OR it may still not be 100%
skunkbaby
That is exactly what happened. What do you mean by "remove the tags?"
jewelisheaven
Determine what changed likely... and go into your library software or the file itself, remove them --> and right click force recheck. If it added tags, and you can't get it to show 100% you need to create a NEW torrent with these new data files, and this time set them to read-only so your stupid program doesn't mess with them. skunkbaby
Forgive me for being a little thick here, but do you mean ID3 tags?
jewelisheaven
Possibly, if it's music. iTunes also adds its own tags. And who KNOWS what WMP does. Some software also tags videos... hence A/V above.. shorthand for audio-visual back in the day.
skunkbaby
I think what may have happened was that I was listening to the audio files while they were seeding. The only ones affected were the ones I was listening to...
