Running uTorrent on 2 PC's with shared connection.

I have a 384/64 kbps connection that I share with my neighbor. If both of us run uTorrent, would it slow down the internet? Should each of us use the setting for xx/64 kbps connection? Or should we use a lower setting?

Only one of you should run it instead. You will strangle the connection if both of you use it.

fyi, running utorrent on 1 pc doesn't affect our browsing. it's only when 2 utorrents running that slowdown occurs.

For your connection, running two instances of µTorrent simultaneously will almost always cause a connection overload, unless you choose settings such that the overall performance is even worse than having a single instance running. Much worse.

Your only choice is to run one at a time. Your connection can't handle two.

Your connection could be TEN times faster than it is now, and I'd still recommend running only 1 uTorrent at a time. Now if it was 20 times faster, sure...run 2. ...but even then downloads+uploads would probably be faster running just one!

The problem is, I share my connection with my neighbor who also like to download with torrent. So one of us must "lose" and that's impossible

Like I said, your best bet is to have one running at the same time and just share your torrents across the network.
