Apprentice
How does one stops the logging?
jewelisheaven
There's two ways, easy and less-easy. Both you should backup your settings.dat just in case.Easy would be to close uT, clear settings.dat.Less-easy is to close uT, get the Bencoded file editor, open settings.dat, remove .FILEGUARD and LOGGER_MASK. Apprentice
Eeech!I suggest a third, easier one - don't use this function!
jewelisheaven
Well sure. But the problem lies in the upgrade from 1.7 to 1.8The granularity to logging options was added, and apparently that messed with the bitfield used previously for "what do i show?"Until automated means are added, the relevant key has to be made over again. JAQUEBAUER
Gee, it seems to me the answer is to add a "stop logging" function. I find the logging option to be useful, and from a user standpoint, if you have a "start" button, you must also have a "stop" button, that is unless you are designing a process that never must be stopped. The convoluted methods given above, seem to contradict the design elegance of utorrent. Its simple, efficient, and user friendly. Why kludge it up now ?Jaque
ady4um
I can't stop the logging. Using ut 1.8 beta 11086, and was not upgraded from 1.7.7. At some point I chose to log traffic to logger tab (from peer tab). Now I can't stop it, even closing ut and windows, and restarting again several hours later. I post this info in the announcements 1.8 beta category also, but since this thread is also talking about this issue, I thought it would be appropriate to post here too. Apprentice
I've clicked a few times (both right and left buttons) and somehow it stopped.Don't ask me how - it just happened.Until there's a stop logging function, I won't use it again. jewelisheaven
It's supposed to stop AFTER the change, by enableing or disabling the logging options in the Logger tab. The "kludge" I mention is THE way to fix it after upgrading from 1.7.People who make settings.dat files with 1.8 from the get-go do not have this problem.
