Prior
Yesterday I first started receiving disk overload problems on utorrent 1.7.7. Because of these problems I'm unable to get any significant speeds on various torrents that have plenty of seeders. Any idea how to fix this issue? Thanks. Ultima
What are your disk cache settings like in Preferences > Advanced > Disk Cache?

Ultima
Try unchecking "write pieces out immediately."Also, Start > Run > devmgmt.mscCheck the primary and secondary IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers' advanced properties to see if any of the connected devices' current transfer modes are PIO. jewelisheaven
Is your secondary channel for your hard drives or optical drives (dvd/cd)?Yes, they are in DMA, which is good.

Ultima
Try µTorrent 1.8. Also, how fast are you downloading/uploading?
Prior
Is that version of utorrent stable? And I've never had a problem downloading at a megabyte a second or ever faster. Are there any other settings I should adjust?
Ultima
1.8 isn't "stable" in name -- it's a beta -- but it performs very stably. How fast are you uploading? Are you using the disk drive for anything else even mildly "intense" while downloading at those speeds? Can you also enable "increase automatic cache size when cache thrashing"?
