d_headshot
I'm using shaw cable and I know that it interferes with download and upload speeds but is there a way to tell how much it interferes? I perfectly set up connections, etc. and got the green sign but I would like to know what my potential speeds could be if I wasn't using shaw. Switeck
You can calculate how much you would be getting assuming no overheads...just run speed tests and divide bits by 8 to get BYTES.However since every packet has to have stuff like destination ip, port, source ip, port...it's closer to the usable amount to divide by 9 or 10 to get BYTES.So if the speed test said 360 kilobits/second upload speed...that'd be 45 KiloBYTES/second theoretical max and probably around 36-40 KiloBYTES/second usable max.
