Switeck Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 Your settings seem ok, but upload slots will be too high if you're running more than 4 (or maybe 5 slower?) torrents at once.Compare your settings to my conservative Speed Guide 700 kilobits/second upload settings (2nd link in my signature.) Switeck Posted September 18, 2008 Report Share Posted September 18, 2008 Seeding often can get by with fewer upload slots than downloading, since you don't gain anything by using more than minimum amount. Doesn't often help the torrent swarm out much either.It's your average upload speed PER upload slot that matters when you have multiple torrents going.65 KB/sec divided by 4 upload slots = 16.25 KB/sec per upload slot IF you're only running 1 torrent.But if you're running 5 torrents, the average upload slot speed drops to 3.25 KB/sec.Reducing upload slots per torrent to 3 while seeding 5 torrents increases average upload slot speed to 4.33 KB/sec.There's still winners and losers...sometimes you're not using every upload slot on every torrent -- so those that are being used run a bit faster. Often there's particularly slow peers that for whatever reason don't want to download faster than 1 KB/sec from you...so others run faster.Did you also try v1.8.1 beta?
