GuilT1
I have been using 1.8 since it came out without any problems whatsoever, but today, nothing will run properly. Sometimes the installer will skip the installation and just open Utorrent, but within 15 seconds it stops responding and I have to close it with task manager, even then the process won't go away for like 5 minutes. Sometimes if I happen to get it installed, it will stop responding, turn white and the same thing. I have tried every configuration imaginable, I checked my router, reset it, uninstalled AVG 8.0, configured network sharing, turned off Windows firewall, tried different versions of Utorrent, I have tried Bittorrent, and Azureus with the same result. Please for the love of god someone help me, this is wreaking havok on my mind trying to figure this out. I am using Windows Vista Basic(blah, puke), eveything else about my computer is tip top, no internet problems or anything.

thelittlefire
You run the uTorrent.exe from your Desktop? When you said "YES" to install (As Administrator on first run) it would have likely created a shortcut there instead. Are you running as administrator by default? GuilT1
Yes I run the .exe, sometimes it will prompt for the install, then everything would seem to be fine, then it freezes after 15 seconds or so. It does create the shortcut, but even after it crashes and I run it again it will freeze. Then other times after I get rid of Utorrent, then reinstall, it won't even bother to install, it will just open up and ask for the settings, then freezes. I run it from the desktop as administrator, as soo as its finished installing when it does, I toss the .exe in the recycle bin. Like I said, I tried bittorrent and Azureus with the same effect. thelittlefire
>< EEK! How long have you waited to see if the "freeze" stops? I can't tell from that log... how do you connect to the internet and what kind is it. It certainly points to failing hardware or mal/bad-ware or a rootkit... GuilT1
Should I be worried here? Um...I connect to the internet with a 2Wire gaming adapter, wireless, my router is 2701HG-b also from 2Wire. My internet provider is AT&T. It will freeze after 15 seconds or so, but the process in task manager takes a few minutes to go away.
