EZmaker Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 1.What does "Global Upload Limiting" mean? I have a Fiber Optic connection.10mb. UP/10mb Down. My upload is capped at 1120.I am aware that i can change it.2.Why is it capped?.3.Why not Download?.4.What happens if I uncap it?.5.Does this Global thing apply to all Bittorrent clients, or just utorrent?.
Mur Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 thats really slow fiber... just for fun value can you run a speed test at http://www.speedtest.net/ and tell us what you get
EZmaker Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 well,I tested with several ul/dls with2 sites running.I went to Idaho, and got 13937up,5983dn.I turned them all off and, tested at kansas 21344dn.,9372up.At installation.they used'\:speakeasy-speed test.It can up 10/10.its a hellava lot faster than a modem at 5mb.And cheaper.
Switeck Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 2nd link in my signature...use no higher than 10 megabit/second upload settings.
EZmaker Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for your reply Switeck. The info you supplied is far too techn.for me.I don't have a clue, nor do I any longer feel the need to ask any more questions in that area.I am happy to let sleeping dogs lie,and just go with the flow.I'm very happy with my new connect speed.Things works great.Have a nice day. Thanks
thelittlefire Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 There's a guide link at the top of the post... what's difficult? Are you uploading consistently? Speed tab, Upload only, scale to 5 seconds.. you should see a horizontal line at the set speed limit.
Switeck Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 It's too hard to plug 6 numbers into uTorrent? Wow, people sure have grown lazy nowadays.
