moomoomeow Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Hi, For some reason, my utorrent 1.8.1 keep is having issues with the listening port. Under connection settings, the port is 43030 (randomize port each start is NOT checked). However, that is NOT the port the programs is using. The port that it is actually using can be found in the speed guide, grayed out next to current port. If i set up forwarding for the grayed out port, it works fine...Why do the two NOT match up? I keep reconfiguring my port forwarding just to find that utorrent is using yet a new port. What gives?Thanks-Ben
Firon Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 You have UPnP enabled. It automatically increments the port when the router tells it the port is in use. Turn off UPnP if you're manually forwarding.
moomoomeow Posted November 5, 2008 Author Report Posted November 5, 2008 That sounds exactly like the problem...but it is NOT enabled in utorrent....Any other ideas?
moogly Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Choose a fixed port and uncheck 2 boxes "UPnP maping" & "randomisze port" in uT settings. In addition, you can disable UPnP in your router if you dont need for other pgms.
Firon Posted November 6, 2008 Report Posted November 6, 2008 NAT-PMP has to be turned off as well. Restart the client once it's disabled.
