uuorrent 1.8.1 freezing on vista

utorrent stop answer (freeze), minutes later returns to normal for a longer time and freezes again, i tryed unistall and clean %appdata% but the problem persists.

and i not change any program or something, the problem came from nothing =S

When utorrent freezes, can you open the task manager, go to the processes tab, right click on utorrent and choose create crash dump? Do this exactly when it's frozen.

Compress the dump file and upload it to somewhere, like mediafire.com

I was having this annoying freezing issue too, what i did was In c:\users\ your windows account name in here\appdata\roaming\utorrent, i deleted every file, I then opened and closed utorrent, which resulted in new files being created in the appdata folder

I right clicked on EVERY file that had been newly created by the opening and closing process of utorrent (apart from the one the 2 files that had resume written in the file name) and clicked read only in properties

After this, utorrent was opened and quickly closed AGAIN, this resulted in new files being created with the word "new" in them, i proceeded to right click them and changed them to "read only" like the other files

This has sorted out the problem of utorrent crashing in my vista system, but im not sure if this will work for everyone..........

as an after thought u might want to have your system folders set to visible to find the appdata folder......

Before i figured out this might or might not work for everyone "fix" i was being forced to close utorrent from the processes tab of windows task manager, WITHOUT trying to close utorrent by its normal shut down process first, that was the only way of closing utorrent down properly
