cmos8088
Just a suggestion, Right now the beta version numbers are less then the latest stable version when reporting to a tracker. Latest stable uTorrent/1820 latest beta uTorrent/183B. As you can see 1820 is < 183B. So if you use 1830B you would be fine. Most private trackers including mine. White list clients and there versions. To keep bad clients or versions away from are trackers. Very time you come out with a new beta version we have to update are client white list. It would be nice if you could use standard versioning for both stable and beta releases. That way users of your client don't get banned client errors. Every time you come out with a beta. moogly
Do blacklist and not whitelist!
cmos8088
blacklist are to long and harder on the servers. Also you still would have to make exceptions for new betas. The problem lies in the way utorrent developers use version numbers for stable releases vs betas.
Firon
Ugh, just make better code on your tracker. Substring match for the first 3 characters after the / and then do your version checks.Other trackers manage just fine by doing that, big ones included. We do it this way because guess what, the version is 4 characters, not 5. By doing what you're asking for, it's screwing up the naming standards.
