If so, test in one of the testing torrents. http://slackware.com/torrents/ If that's markedly faster you should be sure your settings are correct for your line. Ctrl-G settings are for your tested linespeed UPLOAD< not download. Be sure you're uploading as fast as you are able without impinging on download and that you're sharing a useful amount of data to people (< 1 KiByte/sec is useless).Also be aware your ISP may be artificially limiting (shaping) your traffic.
