SpasV
uTorrent 1.8.3 beta (build 15358)I have been seeding a torrent with Enable DHT, Peer Exchange, Local Peer Discovery - all they OFF (private).I have Enable Peer Exchange, Enable DHT Network, Enable Local Peer Discovery all they OFF in Preferences/BitTorrent.And still I had peers marked with the flag X. They all had IPv6.So, what is this? If not a bug how to prevent PEX?Edit: I have seen peers with IPv4 address also.
Napsterbater
I'm seeing this in 1.9 15380 as well sort of.I Have torrents on a private tracker that is not IPv6 capable at all, yet I still get some ipv6 peers (in one case noticed they were all uT 1.8.2) that had the the flags of U XEP and u IXEshould be looked into.Let me know if you need any more info.Edit: BTW in my case I do have DHT, Peer Exchange and Local Peer Discovery on, but the torrent itself was mark private and showing all three as "not allowed" with seeds and peers as 0. Switeck
My guess:If you're connected already via IPv4, uTorrent may be self-reporting its own IPv6 ip address as a "Peer Exchange" link since some trackers won't work with IPv6 at all. But even still that makes little sense.
Napsterbater
That sounds like a good possibility. Would be nice to get some confirmation as to whats going on.
Firon
I believe they can tell each other their IPv6 addresses in the handshake. No PEX required.
Greg Hazel
Yes, what Firon said is correct.More details: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=456544#p456544
