FailedTsukkomi Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Well, utorrent was working perfectly fine today. Then, I left to go eat lunch and when I got back, I noticed utorrent wasn't running anymore. So I tried to run it again, except I got a black command prompt and this error:utorrent.exeThe NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.CS:124a IP:0173 OP:63 72 6f 6c 6c Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.I've googled the problem a bit and it seems like there's no real solution; clicking Ignore just comes up with another popup window with a slightly different CS:etc. code at the bottom. I could reinstall it, but I really, really don't want to since I had an 85 gigabyte torrent going that's been going for weeks, and it's at 90% now. >_> Thanks for any help in advance.
Ultima Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 ...? ntvdm.exe is used only for 16-bit applications. There's no reason µTorrent should at all be interacting with it... Have you messed with the Compatibility tab in the µTorrent executable's file properties?
jewelisheaven Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Run anti-rootkit/malware!!If you're able to get it to at least show up, a Process Explorer DLL list of the utorrent.exe process may help :/
