Uploading in torrent

Hello all,

I am new to uTorrent.

After I started the torrent, I noticed from the Peers tab, that the download speed from various seeds were from 0 to 30kb/s.

I noticed the upload speed were mostly 0 to 20kbs but there were some seeds uploading at speed somewhere between 40kbs to 250kbs.

Is that normal? I googled "uploading for uTorrent" to find out what does upload in uTorrent means. I am still fuzzy about what uploading in uTorrent does. What I gathered from google is that the seeds were just uploading files from my computer.

Is the uploading seed uploading any files from my computer or re-tranferring what I am downloading?

Seeds typically upload to more than 1 person at the same time.

So even if the seed is uploading at 250 KiloBYTES/second, if it's doing that to 10 people at a time (10 upload slots per torrent and only running ONE torrent, or 5 upload slots per torrent and only running 2 torrents)

...then you'd probably average about 25 KiloBYTES/second downloading from them.
