Lys Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I am downloading something with many peers, and Utorrent is only connecting to a few of them. In bitcomet it reaches 40/80 connections within 30seconds while UT is still around 3/8I have the port opened, and have checked and it can connect, as shown by it working perfectly in BC. I really like UT but its extreme slowness in connecting to peers is stopping me from using it. I have set it to 200 max connections both for global and per torrent.
Forumposter Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I have also observed this behaviour (I also come from BC).I thought, that BC might be the more aggressive client, so I made myself believe that Utorrent is fine
chaosblade Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 You really shouldn't need more then 50 peers per torrent. Any more will probably just degrade performance.Have you tried the "Connect To Peers Slower" option (v1.1.4) ?
ColdArmor Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Why would he try the connect to peers slower when it is already going slow?
chaosblade Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Unless i checked that option here, the too fast connection rate would effectively KILL my bandwidth and i basiclly didnt get connected to ANYTHING. So i thought that might help him.
ColdArmor Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 Ah, alright, I'll try it to because I am having this problem too. =]
