speed problems

hello

i have a question. i download alot from internet but im getting just mad about my download speed.

when i download a torrent with enough seeders i get a total of max downloadspeed of 120k/s

i have done a speedtest and it says i have a downloadspeed of 1.25mb/s

i have turnt my poort open and every thing i know of and the speedguide tells me tot do i have done but it still doesent work.

kan any1 help me get my downloadspeed up? or is this the max. download speed? i dont think so?

You're getting your connection's rated speeds in spite of what you think you're getting.

oke,

so what does that mean? is there a way that i can get my downloadspeed up? i have a provider that delivers up to 3mb/s and i think im getting 1mb/s but my downloadspeed is still 120 kb/s

What all of that means is you're getting about 120kbyte/sec of the theoretical 160kbyte/sec of your connection.

damm i was hoping i could get a higher downloadspeed.

another question, i have a internet provider ( dutch KPN) and it delivers up to 3Mb/s and i think i get a max of 1Mb/s. is it possible my router is to old? im thinking of getting my provider a new router
