Seeds available but not used

I'd appreciate help with a point I don't understand.

My Bittorrent interface shows that there are three seeds for a particular torrent, but none is ever used - it reads Torrents 0 (3) and Peers 0 (5) - so in a week nothing has been downloaded.

What is the situation here please?

The number in the brackets is the number that the trackers report. The number outside is the number that you are actually connected to - which is 0, so it's not surprising you see no traffic. The numbers reported by the trackers seem to be complete BS. I'd give up on that one.
