SicAmongThePure
Hey guys, I'm trying to download a torrent that is a big file and it was downloading between 300-500 kb/s last night. I went to bed, got up this morning expecting it to be almost done and my download speed has dropped to between 1-5 kb/s and it is not even half way done downloading. Any idea what could be causing this? Could it be my ISP? I live in California and use Comcast, and this is the first time I have tried downloading a torrent. Should I be worried about getting caught? SicAmongThePure
.306I also just started downloading something else. I read somewhere that that could alleviate the problem with my first download. The availability for this one is fluctuates between 8.5 and 11.994 and it is downloading between 100-200 kb/s. However, my first download is still only downloading between .1 and .5 kb/s.
DreadWingKnight
If you have 30.6% of the first torrent done, then you have all of the pieces that are available for it.
SicAmongThePure
Well when I go to the files tab and look at the files (and there are about 15 of them) they are all still incomplete. So I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
DreadWingKnight
Among the peers you're connected to, there are only about 30% of the pieces available.
SicAmongThePure
I see. Should I just stop downloading and wait for the rest to become available (the file was originally uploading a week ago)? Would it work better if I found an older file? DreadWingKnight
Probably just leave it, but keep your eyes out for another file.
