no shorcut and no files in utorrent folder

i tried to install the utorrent as i just switched from bitcomet.

so after installing utorrent, when i open the utorrent folder...there is nothing inside there and one thing that annoy me is that whenever i tried to quit utorrent, to reopen it, i need to install the damn thing all over again..is it just me or what?

besides that no there is no shortcut created, no icon in start menu....

Try to install µT the 1st time with admin rights. That's the cause.

i managed to get the utorrent icon after installing it in a different folder

now my problem im having is, whenever i quit utorrent, all my torrent downloads are gone and all my setting are restored back to default mode.

this is very frustrating as i need to do hash check all over again ever time i quit and restart..

Check for write access in the appdata/utorrent folder. You must have lost your privileges some how.

in my utorrent folder...theres only a shortcut for utorrent...

and how do i run it as admin?

Right click on the µT icon on your desktop and run as admin.

Or go to %ProgramFiles%\uTorrent and do the same on utorrent.exe.

Do you have utorrent.exe in %ProgramFiles%\uTorrent?

And does %appdata%\utorrent exist in your computer?

only the utorrent is found...the appdata is not available

So there is an issue with the folder permissions about %appdata%\utorrent...

Do you know if µT works as standalone? (create a folder on the desktop, move utorrent.exe and create empty files resume.dat and settings.dat)
