z1unknown Posted August 23, 2010 Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 whenever i set my global max connections over 50 or so after some time i see the message network cable unplugged and my internet disconnects. i have my ports configured correctly and sometimes i can reach the speed i want when i limit max connection to 40 but when people set their upload to 1kb so i end up downloading at around 40k total. i use verizon dsl and my router is westell model 327w. my question is does my internet disconnect with many connections because my dsl cant support more connections or because of my router which is like 5 years old? would buying a new router fix this problem? paintball9 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 It does sound like your router is to blame, Watch when it happens next time. Do you actually see the lights power off and reset? If so a new router may fix it, as long as the new router is better. You might also see an improvement by turning off uTP (bandwidth management) in uTorrent's preferences.
