Metalace
Im having problems with utorrent banning my own ip. This never happened before i upgraded to 2.2. Im not sure if this is a bug or not. Im running vista 64 bit if that helps anything.
DreadWingKnight
Why do you think it's a bad thing? And how are you finding out it's banning your own IP?
Metalace
Why do you think it's a bad thing? And how are you finding out it's banning your own IP?Well first off i can notice a difference in speeds when im banned. When i reset bans and check logger it comes up with my ip address and the port i use.
DreadWingKnight
It banning your own IP like that is actually by design to prevent you from connecting to yourself. It's not what is causing speed problems, so you need to look elsewhere for that.

DreadWingKnight
Doesn't mean it didn't do it and it doesn't change the fact that the ban does NOT have any effect on your speeds.

Whenever i reset the bans it will always up my speed. It only bans my ip on 2 torrents the rest wont ban my ip. It effects me by not letting me connect to seeds/peers, so thats why i said it effects my speeds.
Firon
Banning your own IP will not have any effect on your speeds. It will not prevent you from connecting to other peers. You may be banning other peers (who are probably sending bad data) and resetting the bans "fixes" it.
