Cannot execute Binary file

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded the linux version and unpacked it, but it does not run, even though I use a 32bit Debian lenny and a recent kernel, like stated on the requirements page.

bash: ./utserver: cannot execute binary file

apparently, the binary seems to be broken.

is there a .deb package or are there sources somewhere?

I tried again today and I downloaded via wget, not by a browser, from here:

http://download.utorrent.com/linux/utorrent-server-3.0-25053.tar.gz

the file was apparently ok, tar/gunzip didn't complain.

Still same error. Operating system is Debian 6 meanwhile, and kernel version is:

2.6.32-5-powerpc

A 32bit CPU installed, so no problems with 64bit possible like mentioned another thread..

I believe your effort of making an "universal binary" instead of maintaining different binaries for each plattform and packaging them separately has gone very wrong.

The product is built for Intel and AMD processors. It isn't built for Power-PC processors.

There is no attempt at making a universal binary for uTorrent Server.
