timotb
Amazingly I am downloading at a whopping speed over 500 kb/sec with a red ! in the corner that says not connected, need to open ports. Already did the port forwarding deal days ago. Why the error message? Can I fix this for a green check?

DreadWingKnight
Did you static IP your computer behind your router outside the DHCP range but inside the subnet of your router?Did you configure comodo?
timotb
Not sure how to static IP the computer behind the router outside the DHCP range but inside the subnet of the router?I returned the net configuration to dynamic after I finished the port forwarding. To fix this do I need to redo the port forwarding?>I have have to read about comodo configuration .....do see any auto configs.I changed it back to Static using portforward setup.....got a green check now. Think Im ok
DreadWingKnight
I returned the net configuration to dynamic after I finished the port forwardingThis breaks the forwarding. Linksys routers, especially older ones like yours, are VERY picky about IP addressing. The typical range for the BEFSR41 is .x.100 to .x.150Try setting your static IP to .x.75 and LEAVING IT when you port forward to it.
