utorrent using excessive memory and cpu. Stops responding.

I have been fighting this problem for some time now. I have upgraded to the latest version of utorrent and still been having the same problem. Maybe a year or so. uTorrent starts up fine and seems to run fine for awhile and then I will go back to it later on and it has stopped responding. The memory usage on the task manager is through the roof and i kill the task and start it back up. The next day, the same thing.

I am running Windows XP service pack 3.

Please help because i cant seem to be able to get anything done since it crashes before it can finish anything. Been using utorrent for years and i am too faithfull to want to use anything else.

While you're at it you may want to seriously remove the "ask toolbar" and "search toolbar" crap. Windows Messenger also if you don't use it.

P.S...Just to let you know running 2 instances of malware/anti-virus removal tools isn't a good idea either!
