headshot.g Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Hey guys, I just recently got a new OS (windows 7 from vista) and all my torrents and such were backed up on a non C drive HDD so I have all the files here and many VERY LARGE downloads at like 80%. But the original U torrent went the way of the C drive HDD and got wiped. Is there a way to re start these torrents again? I have re downloaded Utorrent and specified the correct directory but it wont load them. Do I have to find the original torrent I used and re load the info? Im kinda clueless about this, 1st time I've had this situation. Thankyou.
rafi Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 You still have the *.torrent files themselves? If so and you still use the same exact path names for both the .torrent files and the downloaded files - yes. Just exit uT and use your older resume.dat file instead for the new/empty one. If not - use the migration guide: http://www.utorrent.com/help/guides/migrate ( try set download location for one file first...).
headshot.g Posted February 15, 2014 Author Report Posted February 15, 2014 I have the folders full of the videos the torrent was downloading. I would have to re search for the actual .torrent file. then follow the migrating rules?
rafi Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Yes, you must have all the.torrent files first. If you have them and both are in the exact same folder -*names* - just re-use/copy-over of the old resume.dat file will do the trick. Otherwise - follow the guide.
