utorrent popup in system tray announcing new album released - new feature?

Recommended Posts

I wonder if this is a "new feature" for utorrent but I got a popup in my system tray for some album that presumably I would be able to download.  As I tried to search for how to remove those popups instead of clicking the link, I dont know much more about the album.

Just curious if this is a new thing for utorrent I have to be aware of.

they keep popping up too, and I do not want any of them

I use torrents for a legal use only for distribution of some files of interest to computer chess

Options > Preferences > UI Settings > Show balloon notifications in tray < Uncheck > OK

Temporary workaround. Sadly this means you will also miss the "Torrent completed" notification but you can work around that with Options > Preferences > Advanced > Run program to perform for example a sound signal when torrent finishes downloading or open the directory to view newly finished files.

I hope this is not permanent behaviour because if so i will downgrade to an earlier version as i hate nagging nanny who constantly demands attention.

Sadly, this workaround does not seem to work.  I've always had that option disabled but the Bundle notification still shows up every 10 minutes or so.

Thanks for the reports. This is a bug, not permanent behavior, and we're working on a fix to stop re-displaying and allow you to completely disable via advanced preference override right now. We expect to release a bugfix this morning. I'll reply with more info as available.

We pushed a fix to our servers (no client update required at this time) which should result in all notifications being suppressed while we investigate. Is anyone still seeing them? We've already implemented an advanced preference that will allow users to suppress them on their own and are preparing a client release. Thanks for your patience while we work to fix the bug.
