thunderclap
I'm trying to create a torrent to share with some friends. I know my IP so I create a torrent with the announcement http://[ip address]:[port]/announce. Yet, when I add it to uTorrent, I get a red bar and an error stating "connection closed by peer". I've tested the port and it is open. I've been at it for hours and can't figure out how to get this working. Does anyone have a suggestion? I'm running the latest build of uTorrent in Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64. My ISP is Comcast. I do have Norton running and a Linksys E2500 router. DreadWingKnight
Did you turn on the internal tracker?
thunderclap
Did you turn on the internal tracker? The bt.enable_tracker, correct? I did. It has a *yes by it.
thunderclap
I think I've discovered the problem: Norton. Although a port check showed it open, when anything tried to access uTorrent Norton locked it down.
thunderclap
It turns out it wasn't Norton but having IPFilter enabled. Turned it off and it started fine. Now, though, remote computers are stuck at Finding peers. Any thoughts?
