Although setting all false is a very good option adding ip addresses in the HOSTS file or firewall helps prevents most of the setting resets to the point of no return. This is probably  why I have never had the disturbing sync ad mentioned in other topics.

 

Knock yourself out by adding these to your HOSTS file:

Mine have stayed put over the past few days.

 

Edit: After saying that, offers.404_enabled has now set itself to it's default value false

It's magic I tell you... I didn't touch it.

Mine switches it self back, and I get that stupid fucking Sync shit again. Fuck it. Fuck utorrent. Looking for an alternative.

Before you do that: Although you shouldn't have to do this in the first place, did you:

 

a) Try Beasly's (suggestion of blocking in hosts file solution at post #27?

b ) rafi's settings.dat file found in his signature?

 

Try either first or both together.

Try this: open preferences. Click Advanced. Type offers in the filter box.

Adjust the values by clicking on them (press Set button after deleting/adjusting a digit/text value or setting false option) to look like this, and that stupid sync ad should go.:

Thanks Mikey did the trick no more Sync Ad... I forgot to turn off auto upgrade and was extremely pissed utorrent went this route.
