  1. Never say never - *everything* can be done - it's just a matter of the right person working on it. Simple as that. QBT is already quite close to the solution.
  2. Not of resume.dat directly' date=' but pointing the client to the existing payload location and dropping the .torrent files into the auto load folder, loads and rechecks the existing jobs with no problems at all.[/quote']That method won't work for me - I can't pick out the specific ~700 torrent files, and the folder locations are spread over several drives in numerous locations. Impossible to do in that manner. Any client *MUST*, no ifs, ands, or buts, be able to *directly* import the resume.dat file data (for me).
  3. Been testing that client. imports running jobs flawlessly Memory footprint 5% smaller than uTorrent' date=' but ~15% larger than qBittorrent It's the Python 3.3 core that it installs locally and the wxWidgets DLL that make up much of the space. Import of uT resume.dat?!!!! With no manual selection of the destination folders? If that's the case, I'l install and try it out immediately!
  4. The key on ANY alternate client is the ability to seemlessly import all of the resume.dat data - not to have to set anything manually (like qbittorrent is currently stuck with). Looking through the forum posts, news, etc, I didn't see anything that relates to that aspect.
  5. If you are on the a beta track - go for the latest build' date=' so at least you complaining can help a bit. If not - stay with 3.3.2, not some older build. Much stabler. It's as simple as that...[/quote'] I did NOT find 3.3.2 to be more stable than the version I am running.
  6. And rafi was insisting that we should all upgrade to it (because I'm still on 30287, which is the ONLY 3.4x build I have found that doesn't have a multitude of ridiculous problems!) Clearly they are just throwing these builds out with ZERO testing on their side. This is NOT the "tiny" client we started out with. It's not enough that they release their PAID version (and we can't get rid of the menu item for it in the "free" version), now they have to deluge us with all sorts of ad-related CRAP! I'm just waiting for another (probably open source) client to be able to EFFICIENTLY import uT's resume data so I can switch. Look how long MySpace was "King Of The Web" and when it first came on the scene, no one thought anything of Facebook - yeah, well were is MySpace now, and how many people actually still use it. Same can be said for Yahoo, etc. BT/uT need to get their collective heads out of the @$$es and work PROPERLY, or they're going to find themselves without the user base they have now. It's as simple as that. And they are just plain STUPID if they think otherwise.
  7. Good luck finding one that doesn't have it. It's part of the protocol. If that's the case, then tell me WHY it isn't being exploited, or how it can NOT be exploited.
  8. If one can "uniquely identifies your device in the swarm", then that is *specific* evidence that can be used against you, regardless on *any* kind of VPN or IP+Port information. If that is indeed the case, I will be ceasing use of uT immediately and find another client. I expect a senior Admin/Dev to weigh in here on this issue PRONTO! Also, if that is the case, expect to see an article investigating it on TorrentFreak in the immediate future ......
  9. All versions do and have for a very long while. That does not explain why there is a certificate involved (nor why BT/uT hasn't bothered to properly update it). I just checked v2.2.1 and there is no "Computer ID" - the reason for and usage of it has not yet been explained.
  10. I'll give it a shot with your settings file. BTW, what does your "patch" do?
  11. I have no clue what was done. This has a) happened before, and happened on other systems with other versions - even with a FRESH installation.
  12. Is all your fault.. Ya, it usually is. But what is the solution?
  13. I also notice in the LOGGER that it creates/stores a "Computer ID" - what/why is this? I do not like the idea of this at all .......
  14. UGH! This is back - Why does it prompt me to add an RSS entry with EVERY torrent added? I would PREFER to remove RSS *entirely* - I have no use nor desire for it. Doesn't matter HOW the torrent is added, it still prompts for the RSS Feed. Advanced Settings for RSS are all FALSE - I find no other RSS-related settings/options. Thanks for any assistance.
  15. Why is Avast! suddenly asking me for a "Mail Shield Security Exclusion" on a certificate for server 86.50.92.73 - message says: Issued to: US,ST=CA,L=SanFransisco,O=BitTorrent,OU=uTorrent,CN=uTorrent Issued by: US,ST=CA,L=SanFransisco,O=BitTorrent,OU=uTorrent,CN=uTorrent Valid from 8/9/2012 to 8/29/2013 The certificate is not within its validity period The certificate is not trusted Someone please explain. Thanks.
  16. LOL. I think I'll wait for a little more feedback from others before I give it a go - the last half dozen builds I've tried have all been "bad" (I'm still on 30287).
  17. Why bring my name into it, rafi? I was just laughing at the post - I have no input on the build, as I have not tried it yet.
  18. @ciaobaby - LMAO! Glad you posted that before I bothered to fire it up!
  19. Ok, maybe that *shouldn't* have been directed at you, but at the Dev/Admin/PM teams. Please accept my apologies for the indiscretion
  20. If that's what you're going to claim, then as an IT/Process/Project Management Professional, I'm going to say that you have a *significantly* screwed up system. Simple as that. Lackadaisical in implementation. You don't WANT people to DL then, then it's real simple - DON'T MAKE THEM AVAILABLE. Sloppiness on *your* part will not resolve questions on OUR part. There may be Betas, but honestly, it's been quite a while since we saw anything run "professionally" here - it's more like Mom & Pop, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants development & deployment.
  21. So 30317 STILL doesn't have the Status Icons .... come on people, how hard can this *really* be to fix? ---------------- And the STOP button is back to being the PAUSE icon. (maybe) one step forward, but two steps backwards .........
  22. No worries' date=' just a bug at the NSA/FBI... [/quote'] Yeah, kinda figured it was something like that
  23. Strange that the last notification email I got had a Russian (looking) Sender Name - normally it reads "uTorrent Community Forums Mailer" - this one read Отправитель - same address though, forum-no-reply@utorrent.com
  24. I just downloaded 3.4.0.30317 Does it (finally) show the Status Icons???!!!
  25. 30314 *still* has the missing Status Icons - they've been gone since Build 30287. ------------------- Also, seems to show speed that doesn't exist. No DLs going, but showing 30+kB/s down (that WAY more than just overhead)
