jivan Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 according to http://www.techtree.com/techtree/jsp/article.jsp?article_id=74105&cat_id=609&page=7 one can also see from which country I'm downloading from. Can somebody help me set it up? Also is there a possibility of having preview of audio or video in the next release. Thnx in advance.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 one can also see from which country I'm downloading from. Can somebody help me set it up?You don't set up what others choose to see. Also is there a possibility of having preview of audio or video in the next release. No, Do a search.
Nefarious Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 Also is there a possibility of having preview of audio or video in the next release.closest thing u get to that is to set "bt.prio_first_last_piece" to true in the advanced options, will do exactly what it says and after some downloading u can see the content, otherwise? i think it has been discussed and denied as it hurts the swarm piece distribution
jivan Posted June 26, 2006 Author Report Posted June 26, 2006 one can also see from which country I'm downloading from. Can somebody help me set it up?You don't set up what others choose to see.Lemme put this another way, how can I enable so others can see from which country I'm. If techtree says that this is something which can be seen, then I wanna see it.
Ultima Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 They can if they enable it like you enable it to see theirs.
DreadWingKnight Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 You can't control the settings of another user.If they choose to not display the country informaiton in their client, they won't see it.Perios.
jivan Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 I can see some people who've enabled it in their client. Using 1.6.1.RC1. I wanna enable it in my client also. Thnx mate.
TheBear Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Select a torrent in your list, then select the Peers tab in the lower portion of the client.Right-click on the area in the Peers list and select "Resolve IPs".
jivan Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 [OT] Hi all, Although I'm now able to see the flags, hallelujah I'm not able to discern the flags. I'm sure there's a database of these flags somewhere in utorrent. Does anybody know? Thnx in advance
Nefarious Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 .au = australian.ru = rusiaand a US flag, what could it be you could always search the last string of the text in google, i mean bigpond.net.au/mtu-net.ru
jivan Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 Thnx Nefarious, btw does resolve IPs also puts my IP/port in the pool or not? I find it a great high to see all these different flags & people participating from different countries.
Nefarious Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 you either see the IPs or the ammm... "Resoved IPs", u cant see 'em both at the same time, also the port is shown only if u right click on the column header and tick "port" column
The Mighty Buzzard Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 And no, you can't see your own IP/flag in the list because your client isn't supposed to connect to itself.
jivan Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 And no, you can't see your own IP/flag in the list because your client isn't supposed to connect to itself. That I understand, what I meant is there a way to make sure that other people will see ur ip flag & port as u can see others.Thnx in advance.
TheBear Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 If your IP addy can be resolved and they have it set to display then they will see it.If someone else doesn't want to display that info, there's no way to force it.
