darkangel Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I was using uTorrent to test OpenOffice, on uTorrent I got 15 seeds, on Azureus I get 60 seeds. How do I fix this problem?
DreadWingKnight Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 How do you know it's actually a problem?
darkangel Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 Because I get different seeds on different Torrent Clients, so there is a problem in uTorrent.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 No there isn't.There's a DIFFERENCE in how they behave, not a problem.
darkangel Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 No, if I download something else other then OpenOffice, I always get "1-6" seeds of ("120") seeds.
DreadWingKnight Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 So?Have you made sure you've taken the time to configure EVERYTHING properly?Have you been through the incompatible software list? Are you sure it's not Rogers fucking you over in some way?
darkangel Posted July 13, 2006 Author Report Posted July 13, 2006 I did take the time to configure everything properly, Azureus is better then uTorrent at connecting to seeds, and peers. The only bad thing about Azurues that I've noticed is that the speed isn't stable and it takes up alot of my internet connection.Merged double post(s):Here's a picture of Azureus, I'm getting 50-130 KIB/s Downloading, and 1-30 KIB/s uploading.http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6948/azureues25yb.jpgEDIT by silverfire: Image >50KB changed into link - please read the rules before posting. In addition, please refrain from double posting.
Firon Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 so um, it's not µTorrent. Probably lousy configuration. Or you might've used the same port for both (and have a PFW to help screw that up).also, Rogers sucks. A lot.
Ultima Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Since when did connecting to more seeds mean more speed?
darkangel Posted July 13, 2006 Author Report Posted July 13, 2006 You disabled DHT Firon, does DHT have problems?I'm not using the same port for both.I followed the Mini Guide and it didn't help.Ultima : The more seeds you have the more your downloading from thus increasing speed.
Ultima Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 No. That's not how it works. It's been stated tens, if not, hundreds of times, that it's quality of seeds over quantity. Now tell us, how fast were you downloading when you connected to those 6 seeds on the OpenOffice.org torrent? As for DHT having problems, some people's routers can't handle it, other people don't need it. Firon probably fits into the latter group. The guide is actually too extreme for real use anyway, so just stick to the Speed Guide's settings...
Firon Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 I don't need it because I use private sites exclusively. It doesn't cause any problems for me (and neither does 2000 connections, for that matter) when I have it on, though.darkangel, do you have a personal firewall? You DID choose your upload speed in kbit/s in the Speed Guide, right? And you do have a green status light, right?
darkangel Posted July 14, 2006 Author Report Posted July 14, 2006 I have all of those except for a firewall.
