bgeek560
Can you add a option when creating torrent to disable peer exchange?
NiteShdw
What is "Peer Exchange"? Are you referring to allowing DHT? Only the Azureus client creates torrents with a 'dht-backup' flag. Or am I missing something?
bgeek560
along with DHT there is also peer exchange - this is when you get peers not only from the tracker but from other peers also. so you exchange peers with the others peers.here is some info:http://wiki.bitcomet.com/help/SecureTorrenthttp://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/Secure_Torrents
NiteShdw
Those are both non-standard extensions that aren't supported by uTorrent (currently). If you want to create a torrent with those flags enabled, you should use the torrent creator included with those clients, IMHO.P.S. If you run your own tracker, you can force your download script to automatically add these flags to all downloaded torrents. If you want some PHP code on how to do that, I'd be more than happy to help.
bgeek560
thanks for you help but I just wanted µToreent to be able to make that kind of torrent files and to save me the need for another program. I think it'll be easy to do.
Ultima
Hm, I think this feature works well in conjunction with DHT, and so I'm bumping it to see what the devs think =]Sure, it's a non-standard extension, but according to the homepage, utorrent "supports popular protocol extensions." Thus, what's stopping it from supporting this one?As with DHT, if it's ever implemented, this feature should probably respect the private tag. vurlix
This will probably be implemented when those features become available. You'll have to use another torrent creator to fulfill your needs in the meantime.

Klaus_1250
Is there a target version for µTorrent to support Peer Exchange (PEX)?Since Azureus uses it's own DHT-network, and not the one in µTorrent / Mainline, could Peers that exist on Azureus's DHT network still be shares by PEX with µTorrent? Firon
Nope. The target version is whenever it's implemented.
