ak471992
hi i was wondering what is actually better bitcomet or utorrent as i was going through my peer list and it seemed that more people were using bitcomet rather than utorrent on a number of occasions.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Switeck
People often choose what's "popular" over what's best.BitComet has improved, but it's still a worse program than µTorrent v1.6.

Ultima
You're definitely asking for biased opinions if you're asking about "BitComet vs µTorrent" in the µTorrent support forum...

spork985
I have used both of them. BitComet does suck. stick with uTorrent
µtorrent-Guest
if you want to be regarded as an antisocial asshole then go ahead and use a BitComet version!(Disclaimer: this posting is biased based on observations how BC peers behave!) xenogears
Isn't BitComet a bad client and slows down speeds for other non BitComet clients? I've read that BitTornado is blocking all BitComet clients and that some trackers are doing the same. Is there a way to set utorrent to block them too as an option a user can take?I've taken a look at my peers list and most of the guys who upload to me are using Azureus, utorrent and other non-Comet clients. The BitComet clients connected to me just drain my upload bandwidth. When I do manage to connect to a BitComet user to download the speed is like 0.5 - 1.5kbps. Maybe it is just my slow 128k cable speed or maybe it is as the rumors say regarding how BitComet cheats.
Switeck
Most of that slowness is due to BitComet's very poor default upload slot handling behavior...it makes too many, they run too slow.
µtorrent-Guest
xenogearssince µT has fairness per default in mind, no such rightclick kick or ban based on client ID is implemented. You can use ipfilter.dat function and some handwork if you want to decide yourself to ban specific peers. Lord Alderaan
Pure on functions:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_BitTorrent_softwareBut it is said BitComet had and has various 'fishy' things going on. I'm not completely knowledgeable about these but I got this from a people I know I can trust about these kind of things so I'm staying clear of BitComet. One link I found (via Bittornade wikipedia page) mentioning such a 'fishy' thing:http://torrentfreak.com/bittornado-bans-all-bitcomet-users/Which has a nice little link to right this forum here:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=3531&p=
Pax3
I used to use Bitcomet because it had NAT traversal and I'm behind a router. But I've decided to go for utorrent and take the time to do the port forward thing. Right now I'm getting much higher speeds than I had with bitcomet.Everyone is talking about how fast bitcomet is, but - at least for me - it turned out to be a lot slower than utorrent.
