appyface
Good Morning,uTorrent 1.6 build 474. I do not want uTorrent connecting out via port 25, found in the FAQ that bt.no_connect_to_services can be set to true.Did that, but firewall logs continue to show uTorrent attempting outbound connections on port 25.Bug? Or did I miss something? I did search this forum first before posting, but didn't find this situation explained. If I missed, please forgive and point me to those posts. Thanks and regards,---appyface
Ultima
You didn't miss anything, but indeed, that is odd behavior
supersoft
Under "other", is your "Allow uTorrent to send anonymous version number and random id when checking for a new version" checked?
Firon
only applies to TCP connections, iirc. Check to see that the connections aren't being made through UDP.
appyface
@supersoft Check for updates automatically is NOT checked. I can't find the option you're referring to. "Randomize port each time uTorrent starts" is NOT checked. I have hard-coded port that my firewall is configured for.@Firon These connections are outbound TCP, they're not UDP.Thanks for any help,--appyface
supersoft
You can find "Allow uTorrent to send anonymous version..." right at the very bottom of the "Other" tab.
Ultima
That has nothing to do with the issue at hand though.
Firon
Well, have you tried restarting?
appyface
@Firon Yes, uTorrent is exited normally and then system is rebooted -- every day. Also, found the option you mentioned, on the "other" tab as you said -- it is NOT checked.
µtorrent-Guest
Hm. at least me can confirm that even if that advanced setting is set, from time to time (very rarely though) i have peers on port 80 for example. (1.6.1b483)Haven#t bothered me yet, since i'm not paranoid, but yes, sometimes the preventing code seems to glitch a bit. ;-)
Firon
it doesn't block port 80, only 25 and 110. But this isn't working right, apparently...
