hy guys, utorrent keeps crashing (freezing) and i have to end the process every 10 mins and restart it, and then it all happens again.

im on:

3.2GHz pentium 4

windows xp service pack 2 32-bit

dont know motherboard chipset

avast latest version (free)

zonealarm pro 7 - note, problem persists when zonealarm is off

any suggestions?

p.s. what is this: Upload any crash dumps to webspace and link them

really? than how can i STOP it without uninstalling (i really dont want to uninstall it)

is there a process i can kill?

the problem is happening again, utorrent not responing: it will stop responding for about 15 mins, not transfering anything (bandwidth meter), then it will be fine again

thanks for helping me you guys, i turned out it was spyware doctor version 5 -> gor rid of that sucker right away

Hi. I'm on my third version of uTorrent and loving it: easily the best client out there. Thanks for continuing to support and develop such a great product.

But today, it suddenly started crashing (like after 1-2 seconds of runtime). It offered me the chance to send a crashdump to the developers and then said "uTorrent will now restart." Then it crashed again and I got the same message. This happened both when the cache was set automatically and when I overrode and set it to the default (32MB) and higher (1024MB).

Here's what I know:

Processor: Celeron ® 2.60GHz, 504MB RAM

Operating system: XP Pro Version 2002 (with Service Pack 2)

Motherboard chipset (if you know it): I don't: tell me where to look, please.

Antivirus Software: VirusChaser (it's an in-house app my uni uses)

Firewall Software: none

I tried to find a place at webspace to upload files, to no avail. I sent crashdump files to sendspace at the following addresses:

Once again, I should point out that uTorrent has worked brilliantly to this point, and no changes of any kind were made to my system prior to the crashes starting. This tells me (though I am hardly a tech) that none of my other apps (the only processes I ever have running concurrently are taskmgr, explorer, firefox) are the cause.

I appreciate anything you can tell me to get this running again.

Uninstalled. Rebooted. Downloaded latest build (2151) upon prompting.

Same result. Please help me: I don't want to go back to crappy, buggy clients. I've been spoiled by uTorrent!
