Fried Egg
Nothing downloads or uploads and I get this error in the tracker status.I get the green light in the status bar of uTorrent though. Does anybody know what the problem could be?For reference, I am running Windows 98 and have no firewall or router.

DreadWingKnight
Your connection settings are too high for your operating system.Turn the global and per-torrent limits below 60.You might want to try as low as 40.(Windows 98 has really low total connection limits)
Fried Egg
Ok, I've made the following changes:Global number of maximum connections: 40Maximum number of connected peers per torrent: 30I've exited and gone back into uTorrent. So far, no joy...
DreadWingKnight
You might need to restart your computer to clear the old connections completely. The error you're getting is that you're overloading the number of connections (which is different from the halfopen limit issues in XP)
Fried Egg
Well, I've restarted the computer and it's still not working...Anything else I should check?
Firon
Disable DHT too. Or upgrade to an NT-based operating system.
Fried Egg
I can't upgrade to an NT based operating system because my PC is too old. Believe me, I intend to upgrade to a newer pc when finances permit. Meanwhile, I must makedo...I've disabled DHT, what are the implications of that? I don't really understand what DHT does or how it will function without it...
Firon
Have you tried Windows 2000? It's pretty light on resources.DHT helps you find peers when the tracker is down, but on a 9x system, it might just aggravate things. I wouldn't run more than a single torrent, either.
