hellrazer
I have nothing downloading or uploading yet my port is being bombarded for requests for something. about 350 requests every 10 minutes. I think it may have something to do with my computer crashing and not exiting Utorrent correctly. This is killing my internet connection with all these requests. Please help
jewelisheaven
Re-open Utorrent and then the requests wont overload your router because they'll be forwarding correctly. Also see below for common problems.

hellrazer
I have read every guide and manual, I cant find an answer! If there is no file to download or upload, why are people trying to connect to me? I just want an answer, not read so and so, I have read everything I can find and is not solving my issue! Ultima
Disable DHT. If your internet connection continues to die, then do as Firon said and check the first link in my signature. We're not going to get anywhere if you don't bother reading and providing us with the required information.
hellrazer
Ok, let me try this again. When I open Utorrent, there are NO files listed to be downloaded or uploaded. yet I am still getting people trying to connect to download something that is not there. My IP address is clearly still on a torrent somewhere.
jewelisheaven
Or you stopped the torrent. Until your IP:port get cleared from active lists and DHT/PEX tables you will see such access messages. I believe this information was changed to not show up on default in the 1.8 line. You may want to check that out. I know I certainly appreciate the change for IPFilter and RangeBlock messages out of there (Note: I have seen it take up to 2 days for my client to get out of the rotation of a very active swarm)As an alternative, re-start that torrent. You can limit the upload to something reasonable and then no error messages since you are actively helping the swarm.

jewelisheaven
To check if you're seeing recently de-activated torrents.. in those messages you see the bunch of HEX characters.. do they match any "Hash" in the General tab?
