MrEff
I'm having a unusual and annoying problem with uTorrent. I have configured my router to forward the appropriate port, and double checked that everything is correct but I continually get the red icon indicating that I am not receiving any connections. My torrents do run, but only at a low speed. I have no idea as to what is going on though, as it was running fine on Monday and nothing has changed since then. Further more any port that I try and assign isn't recognized.Any ideas as to what is causing this?
Firon
What does the port tester say? And do you have a software firewall?
MrEff
port tester says that that any port I try isn't open, and I do have a software firewall, but it hasn't changed recently, and was working fine on it's current settings before. Firon
You may want to try removing all utorrent rules in your firewall and recreate them.
MrEff
Yeah I've tried that, but to no avail. Also in an interesting turn of events my downloads are running just under normal speeds, yet the icon is still red.
Firon
Try uninstalling your firewall altogether.
jewelisheaven
You don't NEED to forward ports to get bittorrent traffic working http://bt.degreez.net/firewalled.htmlBut it does help decrease the load, AND it ensures you're connectable for those tiny niche swarms you might be interested in downloading from.
