rkunkel
As new member, but original beta tester, I have noticed that speed *is* and issue. While I greatly appreciate the tunneling, when it come to comparison with other torrent downloaders, there is definitely a problem. I use Zonealarm as a firewall and have given uTorrent full rights, so that should not be a problem. As I live in eastern Canada, Rogers is my ISP. To the best of my knowledge, compression does not occur (validated via the speed test at 1000 kb/sec. The long and short of it is that I do not know what the problem might be. Any suggestions, tips, pointer, etc. would b greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Take care,Richard KunkelPS. Despite the problems, I love this product. Good job guys and gals. GTHK
Zone Alarm is a poor firewall and causes many problems and Rogers is a poor ISP that screws things up.
rkunkel
What is a good firewall? Sorry, but Rogers has a lock on the market, so far as I know. If you know different, please, please, please advise.Take careRichard
jewelisheaven
Have you even tried the 1.8 beta from the Announcements forum? They include the same obfuscation as any "other torrent downloaders"...
GTHK
And for firewalls, Outpost and Comodo firewall have been recommended before, just make sure it's set right, it's very powerful and thus can get tiring with its warnings if not configured correctly. Both are free too .
Ultima
Well, Outpost Free is kinda... outdated (6 years outdated). It's not really a viable solution.
