wildwolf
Hi, As far as I can tell utorrent is running well. I have followed the setup guide and read the FAQ's. I was just wondering what an average download speed should be? I have a 512/128 connection. At the moment I get an average of about 40kb/s. Could anyone tell me if this is about right or not ? hermanm
Latest µTorrent 1.8 beta has download:upload ratio of 12:1. About 150 kB/s max is what you can expect under optimal conditions (if that) if you are uploading at 13 kB/s. Your download speeds depends on who you are connected to and whether they can send fast enough to max out your download speed.
Ultima
What does that ratio have to do with anything? It happens only if you limit your upload rate below 3 on a per-torrent basis.
jewelisheaven
You can't get higher than 64 on .5Mbit down... that you're getting 40 is good. You may be able to eek out higher, but you'd have to verify with http://slackware.com/torrents/ for a couple minutes to make sure it's not just the swarm.
