High CPU & RAM usage

Hello.

When I was using uTorrent yesterday, I noticed that uTorrent was using about 50% of my CPU, and made my RAM usage go up to almost 90% (I have 2GB of RAM). I thought that it was just a temporary thing, but when I restarted my computer I still had the same problem. My CPU usage was at about 50% while my total speed was about 600 kB/s, and it was about 15% while total speed was about 50 kB/s.

While looking at the processes in task manager I noticed that it said that uTorrent was using about 50MB, but I knew that it was somehow using more because when I exited uTorrent, my RAM usage dropped down to 40%.

Ignoring the known problem with NOD32's IMON service, if the uTorrent process isn't directly eating the ram, it's a case of the windows disk cache going stupid.

Try 1.8 with the windows disk cache disabled (preferences - advanced - disk cache)

Thanks for the prompt response. I disabled disk caching and it seems to have solved the problem. uTorrent only uses 1% CPU and 6MB of RAM with a total speed of 130KB/s. I will have to wait until tomorrow to test it at high speeds because my ISP slows down my speed at this time.

You also need to disable NOD32's IMON, or add an exception for utorrent, as it is broken (the developers admitted to it).
