Codex Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 I added a torrent today, and for no reason, it starts crashing every time I load it.Its not a corrupt torrent and this has never happened.I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and even tried going back to the stable, then beta, then stable, but no matter which install, it crashes on loading uTorrent. How do I make it stop?Maybe if i delete the new torrent? Where are the torrents saved?

Switeck Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Although these may be normal Microsoft Windows files, even if they are they may be using a lot of CPU percent:C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exeC:\Windows\System32\mobsync.exeC:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exeC:\Windows\system32\SearchFilterHost.exeDoes Process Explorer give any hints to what they're doing?...and do you need them? This is another possible troublemaker:O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: w2pxdrv.dllDid you uninstall BitComet?:O9 - Extra button: BitComet - {D18A0B52-D63C-4ed0-AFC6-C1E3DC1AF43A} - res://C:\Program Files\BitComet\tools\BitCometBHO_1.2.2.28.dll/206 (file missing)Roxio is known to not "play nice" with uTorrent, though it's mainly Roxio's file indexer that's the problem:O23 - Service: Roxio UPnP Renderer 9 - Sonic Solutions - C:\Program Files\Roxio\Digital Home 9\RoxioUPnPRenderer9.exeO23 - Service: Roxio Upnp Server 9 - Sonic Solutions - C:\Program Files\Roxio\Digital Home 9\RoxioUpnpService9.exeO23 - Service: LiveShare P2P Server 9 (RoxLiveShare9) - Sonic Solutions - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxLiveShare9.exeO23 - Service: RoxMediaDB9 - Sonic Solutions - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxMediaDB9.exeO23 - Service: Roxio Hard Drive Watcher 9 (RoxWatch9) - Sonic Solutions - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\9.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatch9.exeI can't say that any of those are the cause of your problems, but definitely worth looking at...
Codex Posted July 5, 2008 Author Report Posted July 5, 2008 Roxio has been uninstalled for ages (thats weird).Bitcomet is still installed tho.Would sending you the crash dump help you figure it out?Speaking of, bitcomet gives me an error on run: bitcomet cannot listen on port 8282 or any other port i specify.does this relate? never used to get this
Firon Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 You seem to still have some stuff in your LSP, w2pxdrv.dll.Get LSPFix and clean out those entries from it.
Codex Posted July 6, 2008 Author Report Posted July 6, 2008 After deleting that dll file, my operating system refused to connect to any network sockets or any ports, preventing me from goin on the internetAnyways, a system restore seems to have take care of everything
GTHK Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 You lost 'net access because you can't just delete an LSP, it has to be de-registered or the chain brakes.
Firon Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 You need to use LSPFix to remove it. You can't just delete the file.
