Skitt
I know this seems obvious, but bear with me. I keep getting this error even though my hard drive has over 450gb of empty space, and I'm trying to download a 14gb file. I click the torrent, it downloads for about 5 minutes and then it says theres not enough disk space, so I just resume the download and the same thing happens.I'm using an external hard drive and downloading the file directly onto it. Could that be a factor? Any help is appreciated.
DreadWingKnight
Single file in the torrent over 4GB?FAT32 filesystem?
Skitt
Nope, all below 500MBFAT32 filesystem?
DreadWingKnight
Properties of the drive. If you're skipping 4gb worth of files in the torrent, it will cause this issue. FAT32 has a 4gb per-file limit.
Skitt
Yeah, its FAT32, but I'm not skipping any files.
DreadWingKnight
Are you willing to Convert to NTFS?
Skitt
Nah, I've broken alot of stuff by trying to reformat/convert. Is that my only option? Thanks for the help by the way.
DreadWingKnight
If the limit you're hitting is the one I think you're hitting, then yes it is.
Skitt
What limit is that?
DreadWingKnight
You probably do have a file in the offending torrent that is over 4GB in size, otherwise you have disk damage (which will show up if you try to convert)
Skitt
I'll do that then, thanks alot for your help.
hermanm
Or just do a chkdsk d: /f (d: being the external drive). That will do a simple error check on the disk.
