Make sure you've checked the following posts already:

[ul]

[li]THINGS TO TAKE NOTE OF[/li]

[li]SOME SPECIFICS...[/li]

[/ul]

INFORMATION WE MIGHT NEED IF NOTHING ELSE HELPS

[ul]

[li]EVERYTHING you've tried so far, including ANYTHING listed above[/li]

[li]Color of the network status light in µTorrent's status bar (at the bottom of the µTorrent main window)[/li]

[li]What the port checker from the Speed Guide writes[/li]

[li]What the Speed Guide shows your settings to be (press Ctrl+G in µTorrent)[/li]

[li]What you have net.max_halfopen set to (Preferences > Advanced in µTorrent)[/li]

[li]Operating system installed (Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, 95, NT? Something else?)[/li]

[li]Security software installed (firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antiadware)[/li]

[li]Exact router model(s), and exact modem model[/li]

[li]ISP (Internet Service Provider) being used[/li]

[li]Connection type (DSL, cable, dial-up), and the results obtained from the speed test (when running the Speed Guide), for both download AND upload. Be sure that you aren't using your connection for any other reason besides testing, while testing. That means no downloading, no IMing, no µTorrent running, no browser activity (other than the testing), etc. Additionally, no other computer on your network (if any) should be using the connection. When you select a testing mirror, use the ones that are geographically closest to you.[/li]

[/ul]

BE PREPARED TO PROVIDE THESE PIECES OF INFORMATION UPON REQUEST

[ul]

[li]Basic computer hardware specifications (motherboard and/or chipset, CPU, RAM, drive type, etc.)[/li]

[li]Your list of running processes (either method a, b, or both is fine):

a) get HijackThis from trendsecure.com, run it, view the log, and post the contents here

B) get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, run it, Ctrl+D (to show the lower DLL pane), select the µTorrent process from the list, Ctrl+S (and save the list somewhere you'll find easily -- like the Desktop), then post the contents of the saved process list in the .txt file here

[/li]

[/ul]

I'm not really sure why you're ignoring the other pieces of requested information. The only things you've provided have been those that we haven't actually explicitly asked for.

ok i try this..

SLOW/INTERRUPTED INTERNET CONNECTION OR OFFLINE TRACKERS while µTorrent is running

* COMMON PROCEDURES (reiterated just to be sure)

* Try lowering net.max_halfopen to 8 or lower (Can be found in Preferences > Advanced)

* Try disabling IP resolving in the Peers tab's context menu

* Try disabling DHT (Can be found in Preferences > BitTorrent)

* Try disabling UPnP and NAT-PMP (Can be found in Preferences > Connection)

* Try disabling peer.resolve_country if it isn't already set to false (Can be found in Preferences > Advanced)

* Try lowering maximum global number of connections to 200? 100? 50? Lower? (Can be found in Preferences > BitTorrent)

* Try patching TCPIP.sys (Windows XP w/ SP2, Windows 2003 w/ SP1, or newer)? Windows Vista users can try this out, but no guarantees are made. Users not on Windows XP w/ SP2, Windows 2003 w/ SP1, Windows Vista, or newer can skip this step.

* Connect your computer directly to the modem to make sure the problem is not caused by the router

* Restart your computer, modem, and router after performing any of the above

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# Color of the network status light in µTorrent's status bar (at the bottom of the µTorrent main window)

its green

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What the port checker from the Speed Guide writes

its 12349 if you mean the port im using..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

# What the Speed Guide shows your settings to be (press Ctrl+G in µTorrent)

upload Limit: 22

Connection(pertorrent): 50

Max Active Torrents: 2

Upload Slots: 2

Connection(global): 100

Max Active Downloads: 2

these are my setting after all the speed guide didnt work

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What you have net.max_halfopen set to (Preferences > Advanced in µTorrent)

its 8

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Operating system installed (Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98, 95, NT? Something else?)

Window XP Media

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Security software installed (firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antiadware)

Nothing cuz i disable everything so Utorrent would work

i only have norton Antivirus but its basically useless cuz i turn it off

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Exact router model(s), and exact modem model

2WIRE 1000 SW

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ISP (Internet Service Provider) being used

Yahoo! DSL the cheapest one right now..

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Connection type (DSL, cable, dial-up), and the results obtained from the speed test (when running the Speed Guide), for both download AND upload. Be sure that you aren't using your connection for any other reason besides testing, while testing. That means no downloading, no IMing, no µTorrent running, no browser activity (other than the testing), etc. Additionally, no other computer on your network (if any) should be using the connection. When you select a testing mirror, use the ones that are geographically closest to you.

DSL!!! 1000ish kbs on the download and 300ish kbs on the upload

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

oh.. i thought i provided the info already.. but i guess i already provided it on my other post.. sry..

thanks for answering.. >.^

Try these settings (on top of stuff found in Ultima's Troubleshooting Guide) to see if it reduces offline problems further:

Upload Limit: 22 KiloBYTES/second (unchanged from above)

Alternate Upload while not downloading: 25 KiloBYTES/second

Upload Slots: 3 (or even 4!)

Connection(pertorrent): 35

Connection(global): 50

Max Active Torrents: 2 (unchanged from above)

Max Active Downloads: 2 (unchanged from above)

Your line potentially may be able to upload as fast as 40 KiloBYTES/second...but you won't know how fast it can do so stably without testing. And you'll want to be at least slightly below that max speed while downloading OR surfing the web. So your current upload speed is just fine...you just may be able to go a little faster. :)

i used the speed guide.. of maximum like everything is 0 so my download speed is unlimted upload speed is unlimited etc.. then i read the threads so i slow the speeds down with the speed guide to xx/256kbs or something.. still disconnected me..

before this happen i just moved and this new place have only basic DSL.. my old place had 10x speed dsl or something.. which might explain why back then i never got disc cuz i got better dsl.. but now i have basic so i guess i have to keep the setting low >.^..

am i right..?

  • 2 weeks later...

If you're on a torrent with no seeds and availability = how much you got...download speed will probably be 0.

If you set uTorrent's half open connection max above 8, and windows updated...you're probably getting 4226 errors in Event Viewer.

If you changed any settings in uTorrent...or got a virus...you might have problems.

Something's different than before, and without more clues I can only guess.
