KILLEr151
Hi,I am using Utorrent, and when it tries to connect to trackers, and it fails and says they are all offline(timed out). What settings do I have to use to get past this problem?I know what the FAQ said, but can I download without trackers? And what sort of speed would I be able to get without them? This is not a speed problem, so I am not worried about port forwarding, but I need to be able to either connect to trackers somehow, or not use them at all to download. Firon
Do torrents from here work? http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/If not, http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992#p258231And ensure that your firewall isn't silently blocking µTorrent. It can and does happen.
hermanm
Try using OpenDNS as your DNS servers. I am starting to suspect some ISPs and/or web hosts are deliberately unresolving certain IP addresses. After switching to OpenDNS, I have not had an issue with the red arrow you mentioned. bguy
I just had this problem on my desktop. It first happened a few days ago, and a reboot fixed it. It just happened again tonight, and rebooting didn't fix it. I was connecting to several trackers, pub and priv. Was still working fine on a laptop. I turned off the firewall, and PG2. Also did a winsock reset. Also changed the port forwarding port and restarted my router. I even tried another client, and it worked fine. So I reinstalled uTorrent, and it started working again. fb24
i had this problem for weeks and couldnt fix it despite all the generous help and fixes from threads like these. long story short, i lowered the firewall settings on my ROUTER from Medium (the typical/recommended setting) to Low and voila, my torrents started downloading!originally I wasnt able to log into DHT, no trackers were making successful connections (timed out etc), downloads stagnated at "connecting to peers" or "downloading at 0%" and the utorrent status icon in the lower right hand corner was an orange triangle, which said "no incoming connections." Make sure your firewall on both your OS and your ROUTER, whichever it may be, is allowing incoming connections. for some reason the router was blocking the udp/tcp connections despite the fact that utorrent and transmission were using open ports (the ports they were using had been checked and weren't listed under the blocked p2p ports under the "medium" settings of my router).my ISP is Comcast, I have an Argis TG862 router, windows 7, utorrent 3.3.2hope this helped
