This began 4 or 5 days ago and I'm just about at wits end with this. DreadWingKnight Posted August 17, 2008 Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 Ok, I see ZoneAlarm on there (which is known to be obnoxious, recommend uninstalling)And you have Norton and AVG tripping over each other (Uninstall one, we recommend norton). AudioPhorm Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Share Posted August 17, 2008 yes, cpu usage is normal when lag occurs. nothing else lags at the same time and it seems specific to utorrent.the frustrating thing is that I'm not using anything that demands much of the cpu, usually only utorrent and Firefox. And there is only like 2 active torrents uploading at an average of under 10kbps each. I've never noticed any type of lag on utorrent on this computer unless i'm downloading something at like 600kbps and uploading a max of about 60kbps and about 8 total active torrents.but when i watch utorrent in task manager when the lag is apparent, it's status says "not responding"....if that's any help.but i can totally notice a big difference since i uninstalled ZoneAlarm, I don't want to minimize that. I can tell that was the major problem...but it just seems like there may be something else impeding the flow of utorrent. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you mean short freezing perionds (seconds), I solved that problem, setting the amount of half open connections from 8 to 3. Options > Preferences > Advanced > Net.max_half open. This doesn't happen on 32bit Win7 just my x64 machine. Nice shoddy coding and blaming it on everything except for an error you COULD have made. All these threads where you just shoot down ideas just lost you a loyal user since launch. I'll be moving all my friends to vuze as well as I'm the resident geek here.
