Snowknight26
I currently have bt.ban_ratio at 128 and bt.ban_threshold at 3, yet I see this:[2008-08-13 17:56:51] Loaded ipfilter.dat (42 entries)[2008-08-13 17:57:01] Error opening Windows firewall: 0x80070005 Access is denied. Smart ban filter kicking in because its the same piece?
thelittlefire
3 of 128 CHUNKS sent. If they don't send any good PIECES to start with, if the piecesize is > 2 MiB they may not even send one complete piece before banning.
Firon
1.8 has a different banning method. Not sure if those settings even do anything anymore.Anyway, it actually keeps track of who sent each 16kb chunk and basically verifies a new good piece with the old bad piece, and then instantly knows who actually sent the bad data. Snowknight26
thelittlefire: The documentation specifically states pieces and not chunks. If those settings don't work anymore, is there any way to perhaps temporarily disable the banning for a select torrent? Kind of hard to get the file when there are two or so peers yet both get banned.Forgot to mention that bt.use_ban_ratio was true, though it was probably assumed. thelittlefire
Turn off use_ban_ratio ?
Snowknight26
Not the answer I was hoping for. Whats the word on those settings not being followed though, not with the new system?
thelittlefire
.... your seed sends no good data, it gets banned before 1 piece is sent when the piecesize is >= 2 MiB
