kurahashi
The situation: I'm downloading multifile torrent, let's say there are 10 files of it, 200 MB each (in fact there is more but it doesn't matter). All files are selected to download (normal). After begining the download, I figured that I've got files no.1 and 2 from other source already, so, to speed it up - the usual procedure:- stopping the torrent- copying the first two files into the folder and deleting the appropriate first two (parially completed) files with .ut extension- forcing recheck- and... the result? Force recheck has rechecked... only already downloaded pieces?!? This way, the first two files which should be completed are exactly the same as before - i.e. in fact they are complete but utorrent still wants to download them.Did I do something wrong? Can anybody reproduce it?
Ultima
I can't seem to reproduce the issue...1. Created a new multi-file torrent2. Loaded the torrent, point to new location on disk3. Started, 0%4. Stopped5. Copied 1 complete file to the target location6. Forced recheck7. Started, 6.7% (correct)I tried both with and without the !ut extension... kurahashi
hmm. Did you actually download anything? What about sparse files?
thelittlefire
Kurahashi, if you know what you're looking for... you could use ProcMon ( http://sysinternals.com ) and filter on the utorrent.exe PID to see/compare file access behaviour to see if maybe YOUR setup is different between 1.7 and 1.8 from how you expect it? Firon
If the first two files are marked as incomplete after the recheck, either they're a) named incorrectly or do not match those of the torrent.
kurahashi
Except a) I'm sure the new files are correct their length and name fits correctly c) I've deleted their incomplete .ut! copies, so that means utorrent had to check the new files! Because if the new files were incorrect they would be rejected and they would be seen as 100% incomplete. In fact, the recheck works as if absolutely nothing has changed. Very strange.
