Switeck
Your ISP (Telus ISP in the UK?) may be throttling BitTorrent traffic, at least during peak hours.Have you tried disabling: DHT, LPD, and Resolve IPs.If you manually port forward, disable UPnP and NAT-PMP.Set outgoing encryption to Enable or FORCED. magatha
i really appreciate your help, but i don't know what that means how do i disable DHT LPD and Resolve IPS?
Switeck
Under Preferences, BitTorrent tab...there's DHT (2 types) and LPD checkboxes...make sure both are unchecked. For Resolve IPs, right-click in the PEERS window of an active torrent...it's the last item on the pop-up menu. Switeck
If you're getting the green light in uTorrent, probably not...unless it's Zone Alarm.

magatha
Thanks again But I was following the steps up the point where it says "Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1. "and i can't connect to that address?i've tried 192.168.0.1 too, it says it can't display...
GTHK
When you removed Norton, did you use the removal tool?
magatha
i just used the control panel add/remove programs to remove all of norton?
Switeck
You may also need to download Norton uninstaller "cleanup" programs from Norton since their regular uninstallers (found in add/remove programs) often leaves junk behind. Qosmio
Magatha: The part on port forward about..."Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape.
